Motion by Couqcilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to proceed with the computer de~rnonstrations and come back with a recommendation regarding same at the April 25 Financ~ Committee meeting. Motion carried.I Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson and Zimmermaf!. Voting No: None. Ms. Hart statedithat the Finance Committee also reviewed the squad rotation information. No action was necessary. This issue will be discussed again during the budget process. Ms. Hart report0~t that a discussion added to the Committee agenda related to increased rate for the building code. The Finance Committee recommended implementing the 1994 Uniform Buildihg Code rates on May 1, 1995. This would allow for adequate time to notify builders. ~Ms. Hart announced that this is about a 40 percent increase but added that this is a standard schedule and are the rates that the majority of the cities are adopting. Motion by Cougcilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt the new building pelmit fees which will become effective on May 1, 1995. Case #8: Report from Personnel Committee City Administrator Schroeder stated that Council has been going through the process of filling the vacani:y created by the Administrator Services Manager. Motion by Couacilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to ratify the recommendation of the Personnel Committee which was to offer the position of Assistant to the City Administrator to Dan Wells at a not-to-exceed wage of $38,500, with a job classification ofi#16. Case /t9: Sewer Alignment Councilmembe~ Beyer remarked that this issue is a really important one. She stated she would like to n~t see any part of the nature trail destroyed and to see a very assertive effort to go around it., Councilmember~Beahen stated she agrees with Councilmember Beyer. A lot of parents and community members put a lot of effort into this wonderful amenity that can ill-afford to be destroyed. Councilmembe~ Zimmerman suggested seeking an alternate location for the sewer and felt that it would prObably not be any more expensive.
