· JOINT POWERS AGREE iN AN0~'~ COUNTY <br /> <br />! <br /> As Council has besn informed in the past, a group of local citizens has recently formed an ad hoc <br /> group known as th~ NWACCC. The group includes representatives from cities, School District <br />I #11, Anoka County,, and religious and community leaders. <br /> <br /> The focus of ~is g/foup is to increase the ability of youth an,d, others to succeed in society. I have <br /> enclosed the ' 40Characteristics of Healthy Communities developed by the Search Institute. <br /> I Many of these focu~ on youth but certainly include other areas as well. <br /> The group has requ'ested that Ramsey enter into a joint powers agreement which is included herein. <br />I The joint powers between the County, School District #1 I, Andover, Anoka, Ramsey, and <br /> perhaps others, wq~uld exist to create a vision for positive youth development. To date, School <br /> District #11 and th~ City of Anoka have approved the agreement. To date, the effort has received <br />i $50,000 from the/~lina Foundation and $10,000 from Mercy Medical Center for costs associated <br /> with the project.
