Schroeder, City Administrator <br /> <br />CASE # <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Background: ~ <br /> <br />This issue delivelrs no impact upon anyone other than the owner of the property; therefore, <br />no one needed toibe notified. <br /> <br />For a number o~ years, the City has been negotiating for purchase of a sewer trunk <br />eaSement for L~onard Spohn, south of C.R. #116. The easement is for the future <br />alignment of McKinley Street and the existing lamnk sewer main. <br /> <br />Most recently w~ suggested purchase of the entire 35-acre parcel (Spohn retains the 5-acre <br />house and surrounding grounds adjacent to C.R. #116). The intent is for future industrial <br />development. ~e money for this acquisition was set aside in 1991 (for the McKinley <br />Street project), il'he project fund continues in place and has not yet been tapped in that <br />other tax increment funds have been used for the other area land purchases. The <br />acquisition was ~ontemplated in the Capital Improvements Program and completion of <br />McKinley through this property was allocated within the recent bond issue. <br /> <br />The City has offered $196,000 for the property contingent upon Council approval. The <br />owner is consid.~ring the offer at this point.
