It is proposed that an 18 inch storm sewer
be extended to~, serve the intersection of 143rd Lane NW and Xkimo Street NW. An
additional inlet ~or storm water will be placed between la~3rd Lane and 143rd Avenue
NW. The proposed storm sewer improvements are shown on Exhibit B.

Street Improvements

Xkimo Court NW and 143rd Lane NW are proposed to be constrUcted as standard
seven ton design residential streets, 30 feet in width having surmountable concrete
curb and gutter and bituminous pavement. The bituminous pavement shall be a
minimum of two inches thick with four inches of Class V base. Xkimo Street NW
lying north of iZ~3rd Avenue NW shall consist of a 42 foot wide street with B-6/12
curb along both sides of the street. The pavement shall be constructed with four
inches of bituminous and four inches of Class V base sufficient to maintain a nine-ton
road design standard. Due to the proposed commercial development on west side of
Xkimo. Street, ~a five foot wide concrete sidewalk be placed along the ~west side of
Xkimo Street NW. Xkimo Street NW will be improved to the T.H. 47 right of way.
A total of four Street lights will be placed along ×kimo Street NW and the cul-de-sacs.
Following comp!etlon of the aforementioned street improvements, the boulevard areas
behind the curbiwill be covered with a minimum of four inches of black dirt, seeded,
fertilized and mulched to establish turf. The proposed street and sidewalk
improvements ~,re shown on Exhibit B.

PROJECT COST

A detailed estimate of construction costs are presented in Appendix A. In addition
to the construcUon costs, overhead costs include engineering, construction staking
and inspection, iegal, administration, interest during construction and contingencies.
The overhead !costs for the project are estimated based upon percentages of
construction co~t. Those percentages are estimated to be as follows:

Engineering 9%
St~king and Inspection 7%
Bonding and Legal 3%
city Staff Administration 5%
Cofltingencies 4%
Interest during construction 2%

Table 1 containsla summary of total project costs which have been divided between
construction and overhead costs and also categorized between direct costs

2
