s
2000 Central, Alpine and River's Bend parks were suggested as parks possibly targeted for
' Community Park Improvement dollars.
2001 Suggestions included:
Tennis courts at Rabbit Park
' Basketball courts
Trails
Paving hockey rinks (suggested by Commissioner Cook)
' Commissioner Asf4hh1 expressed concern over the increase in traffic and speed limits on 142nd
Ave. for people accessing Emerald Pond Park. She will canvas neighbors to see if they support a
' boulevard path.
Mr. Schroeder had gome suggestions regarding C.I.P. as follows:
' Sunfish Lake may have more monies available allowing for Emerald Pond Phase H expansion and
trails along 142nd ve., etc., a boardwalk at Hunter's Hill, and possible landscaping/open space
improvements near a corner of Sunfish and County Rd. #116.
' The City of Anoka is seeking monies from cities whose residents use their swimming pool.
Consensus of the Commission was that users pay the higher fees instead of every resident paying.
I
' School District #11 [will replace one of the hockey rinks at Ramsey Elementary. Consensus was
that money should * set aside to replace the other rink with interest earnings from the Park Trust
Funds possibly this fall with, 1996 dollars being paid to the district in 96.
' Mr. Schroeder sug ested an ad be placed in the Ramsey Resident when discussions begin
regarding Alpine Pak so the public can get involved.
' The city is workingiwith RYAA regarding improvements to Central Park. Included are trails to
Central, expanded poking to the east, updating the concession stand, field lighting, and acquisition
of additional property.
' Mr. Schroeder indicated that other commissions were reviewing the Trunk Highway #47
transportation/safety issues. The Commission was in agreement that joint meetings with these
commissions would be a good idea. The primary focus would be transportational trails and
boulevard trees.
AEC Energy Park will need improvements possibly in 1996, most probably in 1997.
The Commission should consider improvements to 153rd/Sunwood Drive ie: trees, etc.
Completion of ends of Lake Itasca Trail.
On -going maintenanpe of trails.
Parks/Utilities Supetvisor Boos indicated he would like automatic tracking of life spans of various
projects such as bituminous trails. Commissioner Cook gave him a number to call to access the
information.
