GARY AND GERI COOK
5830 - 164th Lane N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303
753-4!87

July 20, 1995

Ramsey City Council
Ramsey CiD, Hall
15153 Nowthen Boult:vard N.W.
Ramsey, MN

We are unable to make it to the Ramsey CiW Council meeting Ju¢ 25 becattse of a
previously planned vacation.

We arc against the proposed construction of a commercial maintenance building on ouflot
Rum. River:Hills golf' course becat[se it will aff~ct the resale value of the homes and the
aeslhclics of our neighborhood.

The proposed site is not even zoned for commercia! use. We think the Commercial
Maintettance Building should ~ifl~r be left wh~rc, it is now, or built on mt ~xisting
commercial site near the club hm~se.

The simple fact that the proposed site is more inexpensive shmtld not be the only point
taken into comiderafion.

I feel that the owners of thc goff course arc taking ad,,;antagc of thc fact ti:at thc residents
of the older neighborhood may not have the resources to nvai me mcwmbie com~iaints o~
the homes on the opposite side of the clubheuse and the turners ~fthe gdf cour:-;e.
Perhaps what we ate dealing with is a strategy on the part of the business men; and perhaps
Ibis is a strategY previously employed on the P!~mfi~g Commission. The Pk~,mi~g
Commission of Ramsay, logically should b~ fighthtg fids every st~p o;' tiro way hi order to
maintain the quality and aesthetics of the neighborhood,
