CASE # // <br /> <br />SCHEDULE UPCOMING WORKSHOPS <br />By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On July 11, the City Council tentatively scheduled a workshop with the Planning Commission on <br />August 1, 1995.' On July 17, the City CoUncil directed that Staff coordinate another Council <br />workshop for further discussion regarding the issue of parking and storing commemial vehicles in <br />residential districts. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission has a regular meeting scheduled for August 1 at 7:30 p.m. However, <br />there are only 2 cases scheduled to be on their agenda and a workshOp could be arranged <br />immediately following their regular meeting. <br /> <br />City Staff is oper~ to suggestions on a date for a second workshop regarding commercial vehicles <br />in residential diskricts. The last Ramsey Resident let the citizens know about the enforcement <br />activities being pgrsued this summer. City CoUncil should attempt to let the residents also know of <br />the discussions nOW taking place regarding storing and parking commercial vehicles in residential <br />districts. The mOrSt comprehensive coverage we can attain is through the Ramsey Resident, which <br />is scheduled to be delivered on or about August 28. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending that City Council conf'mn the August 1 workshop with the Planning <br />Commission immediately following their regular meeting. And, Staff is recommending that the <br />commercial vehicle parking workshop be held about mid-September. (In the meantime, Staff will <br />be reviewing all related ordinances.) <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to~ <br />Schedule.a joint Planning Commission/City Council workshop for Tuesday, August 1, <br />1995. <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Schedule ;a City Council workshop for ~ p.m. on , September , <br />1995 to discuss parking and storing of commercial vehicles in residential districts and to <br />dkect City Staff to place an article in the next Ramsey Resident regarding the workshop. <br /> <br />CC: '7/25/95 <br /> <br /> <br />
