Exploratory Sessions <br /> <br /> These isessions are intended to familiarize both labor and management <br />about the his~ry, goals, structure, philosophical perspectives that drive such <br />partnerships, ~-the kinds of issues/problems that theses committees deal with and <br />the role of pa,rtnerships in organization change efforts. It is important for all <br />participants in these sessions to know that they should withhold any decision <br />about particiPating in an LMC until the last exploratory session. <br /> <br />1st EXploratory Session <br /> <br />What is a labor management partnership process? <br />History: of labor management partnerships (State and national). <br />Bylaws:, Mission and Letter of Commitment / Understanding. <br />Philosophical perspectives of partnerships. <br />Next session. <br /> <br /> 2nd EXploratory Session <br /> <br /> Separate meetings with labor and management, with both sides <br />responding to:the same three or four questions.' The responses are captured on <br />a flip chart, typed and returned to the members. <br /> <br />Questions: <br /> <br />What are the benefits of having a labor management committee for the union <br />and the organization? <br /> <br />What do yeu think the otherside will say are the benefits to them of having a <br />committee? <br /> <br />What concerns or anxieties do you have about participating in such a <br />partnership? <br /> <br />What issues or problems will this committee deal with when one is <br />established? <br /> <br /> <br />
