Members PreSent: Mayor Glen Hardin Councilmember Carolyn Beahen Councilmember Sheila Beyer Councilmember Kenneth Peterson Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present:', City Administrator Ryan Schroeder Finance Officer Jessie Hart CALL TO ORDER Councilmember Peterson called, the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:07 p.m. CITIZEN iNPUT None : CONSENT~ ~ AGENDA None APPROVE 'AGENDA Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented but to discuss Case #2 first as Mr. Malloy had not yet arrived to present the Management Report on the 1994 audit. Case #2: ' Discussion Regarding Refuse Service to Municipal Facilities Finance Offiaer Hart stated that Building Maintenance Worker Dan Bray has been obtaining quotes from ~:ommercial refuse haulers licensed in the City of Ramsey to provide refuse service to City facilities. Quotes have been received from Walter's, Gallagher's Service, Inc. and PretZel Sanitation with the lowest bid being from Gallagher's Service. Motion by C0uncilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to recommend that Council!approve termination of refuse service with Waste Management of Blaine, effective August 31, 1995, and to begin refuse service with Gallagher's Service Inc., effective Seplember 1, 1995, with the contingency that this will be a 12-month contract. Motion carded. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson and Zimmerman. Voting No: ~Ione. Abstain: Mayor Hardin. Finance Committee/July 25, 1995 Page 1 of 3
