He noted that
seven locatk~ns have been added to the list that was last seen by this Committee. He
summarized ~the issues and the locations and stated that the direction was to have the City
Attorney provide some guidance on the City's responsibility for correcting drainage issues.
He felt this ~ask could best be accomplished by formulating a policy with regard to
addressing th~s issue. This would provide the Attorney with an opportunity to research and
respond to sp~ecific items. He presented a draft policy for response to storm water flooding
and suggestetl it would require discussion prior to adoption.

Loft Farber Was present to discuss the septic field flooding at 6508 - 171st Lane N.W.

Motion by C0uncilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to direct
Mr. Mevisseh and Mr. Jankowski to meet with Ms. Farber to determine what solution can
be provided, i

Motion carrieXt. Voting Yes: Councilmember Beahen and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.

The policy Was discussed further. Councilmember Zimmerman stated that a pumping
policy woul~l be a temporary solution. Mr. Jankowski stated that you have to weigh
economics - Some drainage issues may have to be dealt with on an emergency basis but felt
too that the ~olicy should be formalized. He suggested the Road and Bridge Committee,
the City Cou,hcil and the City Attorney should review this policy. Mr. Schroeder stated that
there are 22-"items on the punch list and with no policy, City staff is not sure how to
approach th~ issues. A policy would be a definite aid. Councilmember Zimmerman felt
that it woul4 be hard to address the entire City with one policy, but it will have to be
reviewed.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to
adjourn the meeting.

Motion carded.
