City Administrator Ryan Schroeder Finance Officer Jessie Hart i Police Chief Mike Auspos Police Sergeant Dave Gustafson Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos CALL TO ORDER Mayor Hardiri called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:05 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None CONSENT AGENDA None APPROVE ',AGENDA Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1:,r Schooling for Additional D.A.R.E. Officer Finance Offi0er Hart provided some information on the D.A.R.E. program as it pertains to growth in th~ school/community. For the year 1995 - 1996, there will be one additional fifth grade clgss at Ramsey Elementary and four more fifth grade classes for the 1996 - 1997 school year, due to the new addition. There is a need for a second officer trained in D.A.R.E. any Officer Tim Dwyer could attend training classes during November and December 1~95, and be on hand to assume one D.A.R.E. class in January 1996. This would provide him the opportunity to develop his techniques and skills sufficiently to assume four Of the nine fifth grade classes for the 1996 - 1997 school year. She listed some of the ~rimary advantages of having two officers trained as D.A.R.E. instructors as there are mor, e officers capable of the task providing back-up in the event of illness or injury to either officer and would afford Officer Singewald more time to prepare for the annual Becky~ Weiss Memorial Bike Road-eo in the spring of the year.
