I I I I I I I CASE # 5 INFORMATION ITEM: MODIFICATION TO STRUCTURE DESIGN FOR EXPANSION TO GRACE COMMUNITY BIBLE CHURCH; CASE OF GRACE r COMMUNITY BIBLE CHURCH By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik Background: On June 27, 19915 the City Council granted site plan approval for a 3,600 square foot expansion to the Grace Comniunity Bible Church at 6341 167th Avenue N.W. Observations:! The applicants ~ave indicated a desire to modify the design of the expansion from the hexagon shape previously approved to a simpler, less cosily rectangle shape. The size of the expansion and the exterior facirjg finish of cedar siding remains the same. Pastor Barrows has indicated that the congregation is ~ontemplating going from an asphalt shingle roof to a copper-colored metal roof that has been us{gl on other churches in the area; however, no f'n'm decision has been made at this time. The following idms are enclosed: a) b) c) Site location map ~uilding elevation approved on June 27, 1995 Pi'oposed modification to structure design Notification: The neighborin~ property owners are aware of the pending expansion to the church. Staff did not feel the design mlodification from a hexagon to a rectangle shape for the structure was a significant enough change t~ warrant another mailing to the neighbors. Recommendation: The modification~s are in compliance with City Code City and Staff recommends approval of same.
