Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #95-09- <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENTS FOR PAST-DUE CHARGES ON <br /> MUNICIPAL UTILITY BILLS (WHICH MAY INCLUDE WATER, SEWER, <br /> STREET LIGHTING, RECYCLING CHARGES AND PENALTIES INCURRED) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the Ramsey City <br /> Council has met and~heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessment for past-due <br /> charges on municipa! utility bills. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFOI~E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF RAMSEY, AI~IOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That such prOPosed assessment, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, <br /> is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessment against the lands named <br /> therein, and ~each tract of land therein included is hereby found to be benefited by the <br /> services in the amount of the assessment levied against it. <br /> <br /> That such ass~essment shall be payable in annual installments extending over a period of one <br /> year, to be p~tyable with the first tax rolls of 1996, and shall bear interest at the rate of <br /> 10.75 percenl from the date of adoption of this assessment resolution to December 31, <br /> 1996. ~ <br /> <br />3) That the own~er of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to certification of the <br /> assessment tb the Anoka County Auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such <br /> property, with interest accrued to the date of payment, to the City Finance Department, <br /> except that n6 interest will be charged if the entire assessment is paid within 30 days from <br /> the adoption ~f this resolution. <br /> <br />4) That a certifia, d duplicate of this assessment be transmitted to the Anoka County Auditor's <br /> Office to be e~ttended on the property tax lists of the County and such assessments shall be <br /> collected and ~aid in the same manner as other municipal taxes. <br /> <br />The motion for the ~option of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following absiained: <br /> <br />and the following weTM absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resol6tion was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 26th day of Septe~nber, 1995 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />
