!
!

CASS

DECLARE SURPLUS PROPERTY
By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer

Background:

As you might recall, the Police Dep. artment purchased four 1995 Ford Crown Victorias to be used
for marked squads, i While they mmntained one 1993 Ford Crown Victoria as the unmarked squad
(investigator), they ransferred the following to the administrative fleet:

1 1990 Ford Crown Victoria (#S-4)
1 1992 Ford Crown Victoria (#S-101)
2 1993 Ford Crown Victoria (#S-102 and #S-103)

It is anticipated th~ due to the mileage on the 1990 Ford Crown Victoria (#S-4) it will be sold as
surplus property. ~3~lae remaining three transferred into the administrative fleet are still set-up for a
quick conversion t6 a marked squad, if the need should arise (wiring, lights, etc.).

In addition to the changes in the police fleet, the Streets Department purchased a new 1995 2-1/2
ton dump with ploWand wing and the Utilities Department purchased a new 4-wheel drive pick-up
equipped with plo~. Both of these purchases were replacements for the following vehicles which
are to be sold as su/~p~ lus property:

1 1982 Ford L-8000 2-1/2 ton dump with plow and wing (#607)
1 1985 Chevrolet'Utility Pick-up (#614)

With the additions rioted above and the rotations into the administrative fleet, the following vehicles
should be declaredias surplus property and be disposed of in a manner which provides the most
benefit to the City: ~

#S-4 1990 Ford Crown Victoria
#60'/ 1982 Ford L-8000 2-1/2 ton dump with plow and wing
#614 1985 Chevrolet Utility Pick-up
#700 1989 Ford Crown Victoria
#702 1989 Ford Crown Victoria
#703 1987 Chevrolet Caprice

As a result of the r~ent computer purchase, it is possible that upon installation of the new system,
which will occur od September 29, 1995, there may be various pieces of computer equipment that
could also be sold.

In addition to the above, we are asking that the buildings located at the "old" Public Works site be
declared as surplu~ property with the knowledge that they may be demolished or sold for scrap
and/or moving.

It is anticipated th~lt we will place an add in the LMC Cities Bulletin advertising the sale of the
above listed vehicl{s and computer equipment and/or publish them in the Anoka Union to be sold
by sealed bid to the! highest bidder. The sale of the buildings will be based on quotes received for
salvage or in conjurlction with the sale of the site.
