PERSONNEL COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey P~sonnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 12, 1995, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Pres°.nt: Members Absent: Couneilmember Carolyn Beahen Couneilmember Sheila Beyer Mayor Glen Hardin Also Present: City Administrator Ryan Schroeder CALL TO oRDER Councilmemb~r Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:04 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None APPROVE AGENDA Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Administrative Services Manager Vacancy City Administrator Schroeder summarized Council's action with regard to filling the Administrativ6 Services Manager vacancy. He stated that the last action was to request filling the exisl~ng vacancy as an administrative assistant position. Proposed was a Class 8 position with a~wage range of $20,101 to $29,132. Council rejected this proposal in favor of a higher level position. He presented four options: 1) do not fill; 2) fill existing position as is; ,;2) ~l altered position (Department Head or Administrative Assistant level); or 4) contract!for services. Councilmemb~r Beyer expressed a request for an assistant to the Administrator as well as personnel expertise. Motion by Cou~pcilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize the posting of the 3,dministrative Services Manager with a wage range of $35,919 to $43,988 depending on qualifications. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beahen and Beyer. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Hardin. The Personnel Committee discussed the hiring process and, by consensus, directed that Mr. Schroederrshould rank the apphcatlons, do telephone interviews with the top 10 and invite the top f~e to be interviewed by Council.
