While we recognize that this results in a rather wide road corridor for Principle
Arterials and Minor Arterials A Routes, please bear in mind that these routes must
carry significant portions of the traffic in Anoka County and access points to these
routes must be lknited so that the routes can function in the capacity of moving traffic.

Another important factor in the Function of Roadways is the number of intersecting
streets. Long range plahning should be done to limit the number of intersections to the
spacing shown on the attached policy.

For Collector Routes and below, we are requesting 50 feet of right-of-way from
centerline in urban areas and 60 feet of right-of-w, ay from centerline in rural areas.

In the case of both Minor Arterial B's as well as Collectors and below, the buildf_ug
setbacks as required by local ordinances should be measured lb'om the fight-of-way Line
as proposed herein.

Also for your informatfon and to give you a pictorial view pf what these needs would
look like, drawings for Principle Arterials and M2nor A_r. tenal A's, Minor Arterial B's,
Urban Collectors, and Rural Collectors are attached.
'Again, we request your ~sfstance in m~intaining a highway system which can serve the
needs of your residents as well as the residents of Anoka County and those who wish to
visit Axaoka County to conduct business or for other purposes. Because of our lack of
state highways, the back bone of the Transportation System in Anoka C6unty is the
Amoka County I-~ghw. aY System and we need your ~sistance in maintairdng a system
~t Cwa~e w, ork, for all of. us. Thannk., y.ou in advance for j/our consideration of this matter
e mo~: mr, va. rd to cont~nu.mg a relatfonsh~p .with you that results in a
transportation system which serves the needs of Anoka County.

dm /2ROW
