I
I

MEMORANDUM

DATE:

November 8, 1995

CC:

Mayor and City Council

TO:

Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator

FROM:

Jim Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator

SUBJECT:

Entrance Sign at Highway//47 and County Road #116

As the City Coun~l is aware, the City and SuperAmerica have been discussing the possibility of
placing an entrane, e sign on the SuperAmerica property. Based upon these discussions, Lawrence
Sign (SuperAmerlcan sign company) has recommended a sign as shown in the attached exhibit.
The sign will be ~onze-colored aluminum with white, illuminated lettering. The brick pillars will
be of a color to match the current entrance sign at 153rd and Highway #10.

Currently, the City has budgeted $8,000 in the EDA budget for the entrance sign at County Road
#116 and Highw~ #47. The proposed cost for the sign is $6,750. In addition, there will be some
additional costs associated with the extension of electrical service to the sign's site. SuperAmerica
has indicated an it~terest in participating in the cost of the sign with the City. Based upon the above
information, the c~rrently available funding for the sign should be sufficient. It is anticipated that
the sign should be; completed by the fa:st of the year.

With your approval, the City will sign the required documents to facilitate the sign's construction.
Should you have any questions, please contact me.
