Following is the status of those commissions:

Charter Commission

The terms Of Commissioners Judy Mare, Rodney Nelson and Jay Swokowski expired on
May 12, 19.95. Rodney Nelson declined re-appointment which created a vacancy on the
Comm~ss~o¢. In addition, John Goode resigned his position and created one additional
vacancy. ~e Charter Commission has recommended that the City Council re-appoint
Ms. Marn ~and Mr. Swokowski to four year terms to expire on May 12, 1999. The
Commissio~ also recommended tha ~.~advertise for the two vacancies, one which wOuld
have a termlto expire on May 12, ~d other which would have a term to expire on

The vacancies had been advertised in the November/December issue of the Ramsey
Resident an~ only one letter of interest was received· It was the position of the Charter
Commissio~ at their most recent meeting not to appoint the applicant at this time and to
re-advertise [for these vacancies in the next Ramsey Resident.

Economic D~evelopment Commission

There currehtly exists one vacancy on the Economic Development Commission. This
vacancy is the result of one individual resigning. The vacancy had been advertised in the
November/I~ecember issue of the Ramsey Resident and two letters of interest were
received and will be reviewed at the Commission meeting on December 7, 1995. The
r .
recommendatton, from the Commission will be brought to the City Council meeting on
Tuesday, D6~cember 12, 1995, for Council ratification·

Park and ReCreation Commission

There currently exists one vacancy on the Park and Recreation Commission. This
vacancy is !he result of not re-appointing an existing Commissioner whose term had
expired. Caunml has directed research into the appointment process. In the meantime
this vacanc~ will be advertised in the next issue of the Ramsey Resident.
