I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />I <br />,I <br /> <br />Commissioner Deerner stated that he has received three calls at home regarding violations, which <br />were investigated. ! <br /> <br />Numerous suggestions and variations were discussed including, using .the urban and rural service <br />areas, lot sizes, fehcing, forms of screening, types of allowable vehicles, and what constituted <br />"offensive". <br /> <br />Commissioner LaI}ue reminded those in attendance that the issue is not home occupations, but <br />commercial vehicl~ storage. <br /> <br />Cormnissioner He~driksen stated that there are numerous forms of commercially used vehicles, <br />ranging from larg~ tracks and equipment to the passenger car or van with or without a <br />logo. We may, perhaps, want to subscribe to the "out of sight - out of mind" theory, company <br />Harold Bauer - 79i0 156th Avenue - said that he occasionally brings home a three-quarter tom <br />truck for work andimust be on call 24 hours each day for emergencies. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hegdriksen cited that the reason for tight restrictions on accessory structures in <br />residential areas is 1~o control commercial activities in the residential districts. <br />Zoning Administraior Frolik made a point for flexibility in the screening requirement. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Holland to accept 75% opacity <br />screening. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Noting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Hendriksen, <br />Holland, LaDue, Terry, and Thomd. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Commission conse,nsus was to add another option to allow a special permit process for those who <br />could not comply q!rith the amended ordinance as it will be spelled out. <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawd~n recessed the meeting at 9:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Chairperson BawdCn reconvened the meeting at 9:22 p.m. <br /> <br />It was agreed to byithe Commission that the proposed amendment should read as follows: <br /> <br />In the City of Ramsey no outside storage of any motor vehicle or equipment shall be permitted, <br />EXCEPT as follows: <br /> <br />1. Currently libensed vehicles may be stored outside. <br /> <br />One unlicensed motor vehicle may be stored outside, only on a bituminous paved, <br />concrete, con bit, or prepared gravel, or other City approved equivalent surface. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Equipment,! the primary purpose of which is for residential/private transportation use or <br />personal or ~'ecreational use, may be stored outside. <br /> <br />Commercial motor vehicles and commemial equipment may be stored outside only under <br />the following conditions: <br /> <br />Planning Commission/November 30, <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br />1995 <br /> <br /> <br />
