They will be paying twice then because they will also be paying for <br />City sewer Md water. <br /> <br />Mayor Hardiri cautioned that the longer the time frame given, the more it will cost the City <br />and the taxp~y, ers. He expressed agreement with this language as it gives the residents a <br />lengthy extensxon and gives the City assurances that at some date certain, they will hook <br />up. We need to have a date certain. It can be different from 10 years but we do need to <br />have one. <br /> <br />Councilmem~r Peterson agreed. <br /> <br />Councilmem~r Zimmerman suggested it would be nice if there was a device to run City <br />sewer througb and let whomever wants to hook up to do so and who doesn't want to <br />doesn't have <br /> <br />Councilmem~r Peterson reminded Councllmember Zimmerman that the extension has to <br />be paid for s~mehow. That type of program would cost the tax payers a lot of money. <br /> <br />CouncilmemSer Zimmerman stated he still has a problem with a date certain and asked if a <br />more positiv~ solution couldn't be found. He asked that other cities be surveyed on how <br />they handle thas. <br /> <br />Mr. SchroedO' reported that Elk River has a two-year requirement, Andover has a two-year <br />requirement a~d the Metropolitan Council has a two-year hookup recommendation. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart added that the City of Champtin has a two-year requirement and they do not <br />deviate from {hat policy. <br /> <br />Consensus w~as that Council would discuss this further at a later date. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> Motion by M~yor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion carri&l. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson <br /> and Z~mmerman.
