Chairperson Steffen added that the Charter Commission should interview the candidates <br />following the I994 election. He felt this would give the Commission insight into the issues <br />being discussed. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Mare and seconded by Commissioner Nelson that the Charter <br />Commission would not affect a change for the 1994 election with regard to at large versus a <br />ward system, terms of the Mayor, Primary Elections, and the filing requirements. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: <br />Donovan, Kiefer, Spain-Brist <br />Commissioner Goode. <br /> <br />Chairperson Steffen, Commissioners Marn, Nelson, <br />and Swokowski. Voting No: None, Absent: <br /> <br />Commission Input: <br /> <br />1) Next Meeting <br /> <br />Chairperson Steffen stated that the next meeting would be held on Thursday, July 21, <br />1994, providing there were items for discussion. He invited the Commission to submit <br />any suggestions for discussion to the Recording Secretary prior to the next meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nelson suggested discussing the parameters for interviewing the 1994 <br />candidates. <br /> <br />2) Charter <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder noted that the Commission had just received an updated copy <br />of the City Charter. He asked them to review it and to pay particular attention to the <br />Chapter dealing with public improvements. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Netzloff and seconded by Commissioner Swokowski to adjourn <br />the meting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Steffen, Commissioners Netzloff, Swokowsld, <br />Donovan, Kiefer, Marn, Nelson and Spain-Brist. Voting No: None.
