CASE #3

MARKETING PLAN FOR INDUSTRIAL PARK
By: James Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator

Background:

Commissioner Kent and I met on Wednesday morning to review our proposals for advertising the
property currently owned by the City for industrial development. The City has recently completed
the purchase of the 34-acre "Spohn" parcel that separates Ramsey's and Anoka's industrial areas.
This purchase will increase the City's holdings to almost 100 acres of property available for
development. Additional information regarding the marketing plan will be provided at the meeting.

With the purchase of the Spohn property, the EDC may want to review the concept of developing
covenants for the industrial park area. Enclosed for your review are the current covenants that the
City of Anoka has 6nacted for its industrial park. We, as a commission, may want to develop a
similar set of standards that could be used to foster better relations with the City of Anoka and
allow for uniform development standards between the two communities. The City Staff has
reviewed the propoS/ed covenants at the June 7, 1995 development meeting with those suggestions
being available at tonight's meeting.

Commission Action:

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:

Economic Development Coordinator

EDC:06/08/95

/ccr
