CASE #1 1995 RAMSEY BUSINESS APPRECIATION DAY By:: James Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator Background: At the July meeting of the EDC, it was the consensus of the members present to divide the City into geographical areas for each member to contact the businesses in those areas. The areas of the City that have been assigned are as follows: Ken Wagner: Mary Ullen: David Kent: Allen Stafki: Carolyn Nelson: Jim Gromberg: North side of Highway gl0 South side of Highway #10 Rivers Bend Plaza Area Rum River Plaza Area City of Elk River Industrial Area In addition, the members should request participation from other companies that may be involved in the City on differing levels. A good example would be RLK which will be sponsoring a team, has been involved with the completion of the Comprehensive Plan. It would be a good idea for the members to begin inaking contact prior to the August 3, 1995 meeting. This would allow us the opportunity to provide a follow-up visit, if required. Currently, we haveltwo paid teams in, with verbal commitments for six others. The paid teams are from Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce, and Anoka Electric Cooperative. Verbal commitments are from Miller Construction, RLK Associates, Ramsey Women's Team, Hakanson Anderson Associates, Randall Dehn & Goodrich, and Saxon PrintingIG's Cafe Team. As you see, this leaves only 28 spots open for additional teams. If we fill all of these, we may have to put three teams on certain holes. This should not, however, be a problem. The tee packs we ordered for the event have arrived and will be available for'review at the meeting. The EDC will also'need to decide what, if any, course it will be taking on the purchase of door prizes for the event, I would suggest that we all donate $10 to $15 to purchase a variety of door prizes.
