COMMISSION BUSINESS

Case #I: 1995 Ramsey Business Appreciation Day

Mr. Gromberg reviewed the actions of the EDC members that were present at the July meeting, at
which time the members divided the businesses into geographical areas. These areas were

assigned as follows:
Chairperson Kenneth Wagner
Commissioner Carolyn Nelson
Commissioner Allen Stafki
Commissioner David Kent
Commissioner Mary Ullen
Jim Gromberg

North Side of Highway #10
City of Elk River
Rum River Plaza area
Rivers Bend Plaza area
South Side of Highway #10
Industrial area

Chairperson Wagner informed the EDC that he would be taking both sides of Highway #10 as
Commissioner Ullen would be unable to contact them prior to the event.

Mr. Gromberg reported that payment had been received from the following seven teams:

Miller Construction & Architects
Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce
Saxon Printing/G's Cafe etc.
Anoka Electric Cooperative
A & R Manufacturing
Durand Woodworking

teams
team
team
team
team
team

In addition, the City has received a verbal commitment from a number of other organizations.
People will be allowed to pay at the door; however, they must be reminded they will be billed for
the team, even if they fail to show up.

Commissioner Kent informed the EDC that his fn'm would be having only one team rather than the
previously proposed two teams.

Commissioner Stafki stated that Green Realty intended to have a team and that Tafoya Salon will
be donating 25 tee-shirts as door prizes.

The tee-packs that were ordered have arrived and were distributed for approval by the EDC. Each
golfer will receive a packet (which contains 9 tees and 2 balls with the City's logo) at the time of
registration. It was the general consensus that they turned out very well.

The EDC then discussed the donation of a door prize or prizes by the EDC. Based upon
discussion, it was decided to purchase one oversize driver for about $65. This will keep the cost
to about $12.00 per person if all of the EDC members participate. Mr. Gromberg stated that he
would be contacting the absent members as to their willingness to share in the prize cost.

Case #2: Game Fair Booth

The 1995 Game Fair is scheduled for the weekends of August 11 through 13 and August 28
through 20, 1995. The City will once again host a booth which will require staffing all six days.
Currently, there are volunteers for Friday August 11, Saturday morning August 12th, and one spot
on Sunday afternoon August 20th. This leaves many open spaces for the EDC members to
volunteer.

Economic Development Commission/August 3, 1995
Page 2 of 3
