R~MSEY FIRE DEPARTMENT ATTENDANCE POLICY

The Ramsey Fire Department will make every effort to provide the best service possible to
its citizens. To/keep the level of service efficient and effective, constant training and on the
job experience must be committed to by each Fire Fighter.

All Ramsey Fin Fighters are required to maintain the following attendance requirements for
each calendar quarter:
-33% of all Fire Calls
-67% of regular training occurring during the Fire Fighters chosen time. (If day
drills are available, otherwise all training will be held in evenings and weekends.)

If a Fire Fighter does not meet the requirements, the following actions will take place:

First Missed Quarter-
The Fir/~ Chief and/or Assistant Chief will meet with the Fire Fighter and review the
attendance requirements. The consequences of a second consecutive quarter with
below minimum requirements will also be discussed.

Second Consecutive Missed Quarter-
The Fire Chief and/or Assistant Chief will meet with the Fire Fighter and inform
them they are being placed on a 30-day leave. This time off is intended to give the
Fire Fighter the opportunity to take a leave from Department activities and review
the commitment required. At the end of the 30-day period, the Fire Fighter will
meet with the Fire Chief and/or Assistant Chief and forward their decision as to the
commitinent required.

If the Fire Fighter decides he/she cannot commit to the minimum requirements, their
employment with the Ramsey Fire Department will end.

If the Fi.re Fighter decides to accept the minimum requirements, they will be placed
on probi~tion for the balance of the current quarter and the next. Probation will not
limit response or other activities. It will require the Fire Fighter to meet the
minimum requirements during the probation period. If the Fire Fighter meets the
minim ~um requirements for these two quarters, they will be taken off probation
status.

If the Fire Fighter fails to meet the minimum requirements in either quarter, their
employment with the Ramsey Fire Department will end.
