Boardmember Weiss stated that this is also a liability issue. <br /> <br />Boardmember McLaughlin added that the necessary training would take time and money <br />away from the primary purpose of the Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin suggested winter signage around the lakes. <br /> <br />Chairperson Pearson suggested staying with shore rescue. <br /> <br />Consensus was to continue with shore-based rescue and training level including a mission <br />statement explaining this level of service. Further, that we should train to this level <br />alongside County forces. <br /> <br />Relating to response time, Chief Kapler stated that response to the station is about four <br />minutes. Response from the station varies as follows: <br /> <br /> 144/rUngsten 4 minutes <br /> 167/Sodium 4 minutes <br /> 158/Armstrong 5 minutes 35 seconds <br /> 167/Armstrong 7 minutes 35 seconds <br /> 164/Halas 11 minutes 04 seconds <br /> 181/Jarvis 10 minutes 31 seconds <br /> <br />Boardmember Williams suggested getting a copy of Andover's response time study. <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin suggested looking at the new Public Works building location as the fire <br />station. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer agreed that Public Works would be a good location for the station. <br /> <br />Consensus was to get the Andover materials and to provide a map showing response times <br />from Public Works <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Boardmember Williams and seconded by Mayor Hardin to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
