Reed Droegemueller indicated RYAA's interest in a cooperative effort by saying that Elk River
could call him or Dave to see if they could schedule use of Central Park is they are in a crunch for
fields..

Mr. Boos indicated that he felt the City would be agreeable to discuss various options to
accommodate recreation equity.

Case #2: TRAIL CORRIDORS

Maps indicate that the River Walk or Mississippi Trail will align on Highway 10 at the western
terminus of Ramsey. Elk River would be interested in providing a parking lot on land that is
currently their sludge field on the eastern boundary of Elk River by Lake Itasca allowing access to
the multi purpose trails by both communities.

Mr. Roulf indicated that the alignment at Trott Brook needs some future work, but indicated their
desire to be able to access Rum River Park through Ramsey.

Mr. Roulf also indicated County State Aid pays for 4-foot wide shoulders and they are planning on
paving 181st Street (County Road #64) to their eastern border with Ramsey allowing for foot
traffic along this route.

Mr. Boos said we should consider requesting the County add paved shoulders on 181st in Anoka
County.

XDJOURNMENT

Consensus of both Commissions to adjourn the joint meeting.

The joint Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission and Elk River Park and Recreation meeting
adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

da Mayer
Recording Secretary

Mark Boos
Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Park and Recreation Commission/March 8, 1995
Page 2 of 2
