CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey ~ity Council conducted a workshop on Monday, March 6, 1995, at the <br />Ramsey Muniaipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Pres61~t: <br /> <br />Mayor Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Couneilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br /> City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO' ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin Called the workshop to order at 6:34 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Review Options for Amendments to the Land Use and <br />~Transportation Elements of the City's Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />memorandum ~rom <br />materials. <br /> <br />Schroeder made a short presentation of the March 5, 1995 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Gromberg and the agenda <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Smithi Biko Associates, presented the proposed Trail Plan as well as the typical <br />cross sections of the various trail types. <br /> <br />Council discus, sion revolved around the desire to compare the trail map to the 1991 <br />Park/Trail Plan land to discuss further at another workshop. <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Schwanke, RLK Associates, Ltd. gave background on the Land Use Plan and <br />how we got to the point we are at tonight. Four areas were identified as needing attention. <br /> <br /> 1) Trunk Highway #47/County Road #116 <br /> 2) i}ast/West Connection with the City of Andover <br /> 3) Connection with the City of Elk River <br /> 4) Mississippi River Bridge Crossing <br /> <br />Mr. Schwanke iaoted the top three from the above didn't appear to be controversial. He <br />briefly walked through each of these. <br /> <br />Mr. Smith then Opened the discussion on Trunk Highway gl0 and explained the consultant <br />recommendatiog regarding the location of the Mississippi River Crossing.
