To whom it may concern:

! am submitting my application to serve on the Park and Recreation
commission.

! have been a citizen of Ramsey for eighteen years. Our family have been
involved in Boy Scouts, R.Y.A,A. sports, 4-H program, and the Becky We!se
Bike Rodeo.

! was happy to serve as the vice-chair of the Ramsey citizen advisory
board to the Ramsey Community Education Department. It was during this
time that the neighborhood watch program was started, the first Ramsey
Environmenta! Expo., and environmental programming at Ramsey
Elementary School. It was for these efforts that ! was proud to accept the
first Ramsey citizen volunteer of the year award.

I am presently involved with providing multi-cultural programming in
metro area schools. This has given me the opportunity to work with
representatives of the different ethnic groups that contribute to
Minnesota, recognizing the challenges facing our youth as they learn to
live together in mutual respect.

I also work with Tree Trust in their Time for Trees program. This
program works with Minnesota elementary students providing
environmental information on animals and habitat. By request, I wrote the
information into a childrens' book "Bluebirds In My Yard" which has just
been published bythe Minnesota Bluebird Recovery Program, Audubon
Chapter of Minneapolis.

For the last three years I have been involved in different Minnesota soccer
organizations, in the administration, tournaments, training camps
(coaches and players), and the building of fields. Working with Penman
Soccer Systems we were able to implement a program that ! am very
proud of is the "Little Kickers" this program is designed for pre-school
children teaching them skills in a fun non-competitive environment. The
program uses older players as coaches and involves the whole family
including Grandparentsl
