Paul Meyer, Smiih Architects, presented an overview of the site plan stating that the company is <br />looking forward t~ a new facility which better represents their image. <br /> <br />Chairperson Baw'den inquired about the lighting plan, and Mr. Meyer outlined the lighting types <br />and locations. ~ <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik noted that, although this particular site plan will not go before the Architectural Review <br />Board since it wa.~ applied for before the Board was established, it does meet all requirements. <br />Mr. Meyer addedlthat the irrigation system will be included in the plan. <br /> <br />Motion by Comn3issioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Thorud to recommend that City <br />Council approve ,the proposed site plan for Command Corporation and Smith Architects on Lot 2, <br />Block 1, Busines]; Park 95, based on discussion and contingent upon compliance with City Staff <br />review letter dated August 31, 1995. <br /> <br />Motion carried, i Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Thorud, <br />Hendriksen, Hollltnd, LaDue, and Terry. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer inquired when Command Corporation will need to know if there is a <br />financial impact o~ renaming McKinley Street. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer stated [there would be no impact because their building fronts Sunfish Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />Motion by Cornrn~ssioner Deemer to recommend that Council rename McKinley Street in Business <br />Park 95 to 139th J~venue until such time as McKinley Street is connected to it. <br /> <br />Motion died for ailack of a second. <br /> <br />Case //2: Request for Site Plan Review; Case of Carbon Products Technology <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik reported Dennis Sharp of Sharp and Associates has been contracted <br />by Carbon Produ~_ts Technology to construct a machine shop on Lot 3, Block 1, Business Park 95 <br />which is located[in the northwest corner of McKinley and Uranium Streets. The building is <br />proposed to be 10,000 square feet in size. Three of the walls will be constructed of rock face <br />concrete block agd the loading dock wall will be smooth face concrete block, which is in <br />compliance with City Code. The proposed project meets City Code requirements for lot coverage, <br />setbacks, architec[ural standards, landscaping, screened waste storage, and paved and curbed off- <br />street customer/e,inployee parking spaces and loading areas. Ms. Frolik also noted that Staff <br />recommends the l[mdscaped areas be developed with irrigation systems. The site will have access <br />onto both Uraniu~ and McKinley Streets. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jagkowski reviewed the drainage and grading plan as outlined in the City Staff <br />review letter date4~ August 31, 1995. <br />Motion by Commissioner Holland and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen to recommend that <br />City Council app,[ore the proposed site plan for Dennis Sharp & Associates for Carbon Product <br />Technology on Dbt 3, Block 1, Business Park 95, contingent upon compliance with City Staff <br />review letter dated August 31, 1995. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Hendriksen noted the previous discussion regarding <br />landscaping, irdg4ition, and color matching roof not being a requirement of City Code and wanted <br />it clearly underst .obd these are only Staff recommendations.
