Case #3

DETERMINE PARK DEDICATION FOR THE JUSKIEWICZ ADDITION
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Background:

Mr. Ed Juskiewicz~is requesting sketch plan review of a minor subdivision to replat Lot 2, Block 1
and Lot 1, Block 2J Haubrich Addition into 8 urban residential lots, which includes the homestead.
The plat is a resulti of a petition for the extension of sewer and water improvements to Haubrich
Addition.

Observation:

Earlier this meeting, the Commission will have discussed the various destinations pedestrians and
bicyclists will seek~within the Sunfish Lake Recreation District. One such destination is the school
and the ice skatin~ facilities there. As you will recall, a 35 foot trail corridor was proposed
immediately west oT the Juskiewicz property during the sketch review of the Fox Knoll Addition.
This was intended to route people north and south through the center of the district in addition to
allowing Elementary School "walkers" a direct link to the school. The corridor did not occur due
to concern for potefitial impacts to the school nature area.

A more direct route to the warming house may be through the Green property. However, this may
be too close to Couhty Road #5's wail to be of significant value.

1995 park dedication satisfied in cash only would equate to $5,600 ($800 x 7 new lots created).

The December Plarlning Commission case and its attachments are included for your information.
i
Staff Recommendation:

Determine park dedi.'cation pursuant to District needs.

Commission Action:
Based upon discuslion.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
City Engineer
Zoning Administrat.. Or .
Parks/Utihnes Supervisor

P&R: 12/14/95

/ka$

Copies also distributed to:
Mr. Ed Juskiewicz
