Case #4

DETERMINE PARK DEDICATION FOR THE GREEN ADDITION
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Background:

Mr. Jim Green isrrrequesting sketch plan review of a minor subdivision to replat Lot 2, Block 2,
Haubrieh Additio~ into 5 urban residential lots, which include the homestead. The plat is a result
of a petition for th~ extension of sewer and water improvements to Haubrich Addition.

Observation:

Earlier this meetin~g, the Commission will have discussed the various destinations pedestrians and
bicyclists will seelg within the Sunfish Lake Recreation District. One such destination is the school
and the ice skating facilities them. As you will recall, a 35 foot trail corridor was proposed
immediately west pf the Jusldewicz property during the sketch review of the Fox Knoll Addition.
This was intendeds; to route people north and south through the center of the district in addition to
allowing Element~ School "walkers" a direct link to the school. The corridor did not occur due
to concern for potential impacts to the school nature area.

1995 park dedication in cash only would equate to $3,200 ($800 x 4 new lots created). The
December Plann~g Commission case and it's attachments are enclosed for your information.

Staff Recomme~ndation:

Determine park dexlication pursuant to District needs.
Commission A~tion:
;
Based upon discu~ssion.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
City Engineer ~
Zoning Administrator
Parks/Utilities Suplerwsor

P&R: 12/14/95

]kfls

Copies also distributed to:
Mr. Jim Green

,,93
