In total four goals were developed to address: <br /> <br /> Overall ve <br />· Physical s~ <br />· Mass tran~ <br />· Pedestrian <br /> <br />hicular mobility <br />reet network <br />portation and travel demand management <br />and bicycle transportation mOdes <br /> <br />Goal 1: <br /> <br />Objectives <br />A. <br /> <br />Do <br /> <br />Achieve ease of movement through the City and among the neighborhoods <br /> <br />EaJe of access determines how land may be used and its value along with the <br />de~ree of convenience motorists will experience in their daily travel <br />moi/ements. Good vehtcular movement ts a key to economic development. <br />Commercial vehicles must be able to access places of business and the <br />metropolitan highway system with as little impact as possible on streets that <br />serve residential land use and non-business traffic. <br /> <br />Develop a !transportation system to move people to and through the City and among <br />its neighbc~rhoods and subareas in a safe and convenient <br /> manner. <br /> <br />Develop a ?ransportation system to move commercial vehicles to places of business <br />while affording them convenient access to the metropolitan highway system. <br /> <br />Coordinat~ the transportation system with the land use plan, allowing sound land use <br />decisions, rather than road alignments, to be the base-line determinant in the City's <br />developme{at. <br /> <br />Improve i~erjurisdictional transportation planning to facilitate cooperation with <br />neighborin~ municipalities and townships. <br /> <br />Page 3-5 <br /> <br /> <br />
