8.71.06 Illegal Accessory Apartments <br /> <br />Any ill~gal accessory apartments in existence as of ... , 1995 shall have <br />twelve !(12) months to comply with this Section of the'' City Code. Illegal accessory <br />apartments applying for legal status within this period shall have no penalty assessed <br />against ithe owner for having installed an illegal accessory apartment. Illegal accessory <br />apartmfnts which apply for legal status after this period has expired shall be considered in <br />violation and may be subject to penalty. If an existing illegal unit cannot meet the <br />requirements of this Chapter, the apartment must be removed within six months of <br />discovery. <br /> <br />8,71.0:,7 Penalty <br /> <br /> Any person violating an), provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon <br /> convicfibn shall be punished by a fine and/or imprisonment and/or the enforcement penalty <br /> of SectiOn 9.01.07 of the City Code. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Said l~ermit must be reviewed by the Planning Commission and approved by the City <br />Council.
