Temporary ground cover, such as mulch, is used and permanent <br /> ground cover, such as sod, is established. <br /> 3. Methods to prevent erosion and trap sediment are employed. <br /> 4. Fill is stabilized to accepted engineering standards. <br /> <br />c. The removal of natural vegetation shall be resu-icted to prevent erosion <br /> into protected waters, to consume nuu-ients in the soil, and to preserve <br /> aesthetics. Removal of natural vegetation in the overlay districts shall be <br /> subject to the following provisions. <br /> 1. Selective removal 'of natural vegetation is allowed, provided that <br /> sufficient vegetative cover remains to screen cars, dwellings and <br /> other structures when viewed from the water. <br /> 2. Clear cutting of natural vegetation is prohibited. <br /> 3. Natural vegetation shall be restored insofar as feasible after any <br /> consU'uction project is completed to retard surface runoff and soil <br /> erosion. <br /> 4. The provisions of this section shall not apply to permitted uses <br /> which normally require the removal of natural vegetation. <br /> <br /> Development shall be conducted so that the maximum number of trees <br /> are preserved by the locating of structures in existing cleared areas and <br /> natural clearing and the utilization of other site design techniques. <br /> <br /> Grading, contouring and paving shall be performed to minimize any <br /> detrimental affect on ~'oot zone aeration and stability of existing trees. <br /> Existing trees shall be provided with a watering area equal to at least <br /> one-half the crown cover. <br /> <br /> When trees are removed, the permittee wi.Il restore the density of trees, <br /> utilizing nursery stocks of a minimum of 1-3/4" diameter measured one <br /> foot above the ground, using species generally accepted as suitable for <br /> the purpose to that which existed before the development provided that <br /> in no case need the density exceed 10 trees per acre. <br /> <br /> Development shall not reduce the existing crown cover greater than 50% <br /> and shall be conducted in such a manner as to preserve the under story <br /> and litter. <br /> <br /> Trees used in reforestation or landscaping must be compatible with the <br /> local landscape and climatic conditions. <br /> <br />d. No on-site sewage disposal systems shall be allowed which do not meet <br /> the requirements of Section 9.13 of the City Code. This section adopts <br /> the soils classification in the Soil Survey of Anoka County as prepared <br /> by the Soil Conservation Service. <br /> <br />e. No development shall be permitted on land having a slope in excess of <br /> 45%. All very steep slopes (-1-8 12 percent and over) shall be protected. <br /> No development of slopes in excess of fromm 12 ~,., ~8 percent shall be <br /> permitted unless the applicant shall prove that the following conditions <br /> are met: <br /> 1. The foundation and underlying material of any material of any <br /> structure, including roads, shall be adequate for slope condition <br /> and soil type. <br /> <br /> <br />
