MEMORANDUM

DATE:

March 10, 1995

TO:

FROM:

SUBJECT:

Mayor and City Council
Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator
Sylvia Frolik, Zoning Administrator
Steve Jankowski, City Engineer
Steve Schwanke
Bill Smith

Jim Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinato
Ownership of Outlots E and B of Tooth Acres

During the City CounciI~s Comprehensive Land Use Plan workshop, a question as to the.
ownership of OutIots E and B of Tooth Acres was raised. As you are aware, these outlots are
shown as the bridge approach for the easterly bridge alignment. Planning Commission member
Deemer erroneously informed the City Council that these ouflots were not owned by Anoka
County and that the County only had an option to purchase them.

Mr. Martin contacted the City on Thursday March 9, 1995, to discuss the pending land use plan
changes. During this discussion, Mr. Martin informed me that when Tooth Acres was platted,
Anoka County purchased both of the ouflots, in addition to th6 outIots bordering the river. This is
further supported by the tax records showing both of these lots having a tax exempt status and
being owned by the Anoka County Highway Department

Should you have any questions concerning this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
