Internet Update -- Building Industry's Largest Internet Site to Go On-Line On Aug. 15, 1995, the Building Industry Exchange Foundation (BIX) will open a new Internet site in an effort to improve industry communications, know- ledge, and cooperation within the building industry. BIX is a global exchange center developed exclusively for building indus- try businesses and professionals, and is dedicated to providing many educa- tional, communication, and informational resources as a public service. It is a cooperative effort servicing 47 building industry classifications, and all the resources are free to users. This is made possible by support from Sponsors of the Building Industry Exchange Foundation. This new "cyber site" will house many building industry resources, including: · Government & Legislation Center · Global Business Directory · Virtual Library & Bookstore · Career & Employment Center · Weather Center · Newsgroups & Chat Forums · Global Publications Directory · Travel Center · Education & Training Center · Advertising & Marketing Center · Global Resume Net · Health & Safety Center · Environmental Protection Center · Virtual Industrial Park · News & Announcement Center The site will allow building industry officials to interact, get information, and market their firms through state-of-the-art technology.
