CASE <br /> <br /> REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT FOR A TEMPORARY <br /> STRUCTURE; CASE OF AMCOR PRECAST <br /> By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Background: <br /> <br />Amcor Precast, a'division of Oldcastle Preeast, Inc., has submitted an application for an interim <br />use permit to place a 1,440 square foot modular office structure at 6640 Industry Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed 'for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c)' <br />d) <br /> <br />Sit~ location map <br />Letter of application and Site plan <br />_Pr0~posed findings of fact <br />Proposed interim use permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />State law requires notification of the public hearing to parcels within 350 feet of the subject <br />property. Staff sent notification to parcels within 500 feet of the subject proeprty. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Amcor is currently leasing a portion of this property from Royal Concrete and they are requesting <br />the use of a tempOj'ary office for a 3 year period while they assess their building space needs and <br />develop a plan for permanent occupancy at this address. . <br /> <br />The City has previously granted permits for temporary structures in the commercial and industrial <br />areas. Waste Magagement's permit for a temporary office structure was issued to be in effect as <br />long as it took for their final vertical expansion (3 years with 4 six month extensions available). <br />Listurs permit wa~ granted for a one year period while they developed plans to expand or relocate <br />in Ramsey; they have received a one year extension. The School's permit was issued for a 2 year <br />period to allow tilne to construct the addition to Ramsey Elementary. Rehbein's permit for a <br />modular dwelling Itt the Links was to provide living quarters for the project superintendent during <br />construction of the~ golf course. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff is recommending approval of the interim use permit for an 18 month period.
