Absent: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />The public hearing adjourned at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Pro tern Peterson called the regular portion of the City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> / <br />.~/Case #3: Code Enforcement Update <br /> <br />Community Development Intern Kendra Lindahl summarized her code enforcement efforts <br />plus gave statistics on violations, etc. She added that one of the main concerns of residents <br />seems to be with regard to commercial vehicles. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that there are five property owners who have applied for <br />a conditional use permit to keep their commercial vehicle at their home and there will <br />probably be a lot more coming up. She expressed concern with accepting the application <br />fees if Council intends to deny these applications. She offered to review what other <br />communities are doing about this problem and also asked if Council was interested in <br />dealing with them on a case-by-case basis. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro tem Peterson stated that in the rural areas - with five acres or so, the parking <br />may be allowed. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated that the current City Code allows for a one-ton commercial vehicle on <br />your property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer inquired if the people are coming in with a request for a building or <br />for just parking the vehicle. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik replied just for the parking. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer stated she is not in favor of taking money if there is not much of a <br />chance that the person will be given the CUP. It would be hard to approve one and then <br />deny another. She voiced favor of reviewing what other communities are doing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman felt that would be a good starting point. He felt it would be <br />good to have some industrial area for people to park these vehicles on and that the City <br />should make some effort in this regard. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beahen agreed that she would like to know what other cities are doing <br />also. <br /> <br />Case #4: Status of Snowmobile Committee <br /> <br />Council scheduled the first meeting of the snowmobile committee for 6:30 p.m., Monday, <br />July 10, 1995. <br /> <br />City Council/June 13, 1995 <br /> Page 7 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
