Motion by Councilmember Cook, ,seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. Motion carried. Case #12: Report from Personnel Committee The Personnel Committee met on August 12, 2003 to discuss the following cases: I) Second Reading and Adoption of an Ordinance Amending Chapter 3.20, Personnel Policy, to Allow the City of Ramsey Police Department to Conduct Criminal Background Investigations Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt Ordinance #03-35 amending Chapter 3.20 of the City Code, titled "Personnel Policy" by the addition of a section titled "Criminal History Background Investigations." Mayor Gamec aye Motion carried. 2) Consider Ending Probationary Period for Police Sergeant The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution #08-03-201 ending the probationary period for Thomas Lueck and granting status as full-time regular Police Sergeant. 3) Consider Resolution Authorizing Staff to Begin the Recruitment Process for a Permit Technician The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution #03-08-202 to authorize staff to begin the recruitment process for a permit technician and provide the City Council as to the status of the contract with Inspectron.
