CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Monday, September 15, 2003, in the <br />Conference Room, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Patti Kurak <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />James E. Norman, City Administrator <br />Heidi Nelson, Assistant City Administrator <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />John Nelson, Public Works Lead Person <br />City Clerk Jo Thieling <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council work session to order at 5:41 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as presented. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Utility Billing Mistake of Connexus <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund reported there had been a utility billing error on the part of Connexus <br />Energy. She explained that the meters for businesses are 10,000 meters and the ones for <br />residents are 1,000. The meter readers had read them all as 1,000. The error goes back to 1998; <br />therefore, a lot of money for water usage is owed. She inquired of Council how they would like <br />this handled - back bill the water customer? - set up a payment plan? - etc. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/September 15, 2003 <br /> Page 1 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
