Councilmember Wise introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #i1 -06 -116 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY APPROVING MINNESOTA LAWS, 2011 <br />CHAPTER 112, ARTICLE 11, SECTION 16 <br />WHEREAS, the 2010 session of the Minnesota Legislature passed and the Governor <br />signed Minnesota Laws, 2010, Chapter 389, Article 7, Section 22 (the "Original Legislation ") <br />which authorized the City of Ramsey, Minnesota (the "City ") to establish a tax increment <br />financing district within the City and the Original Legislation was approved by Resolution #10- <br />08 -171 of the City on August 24, 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2011 session of the Minnesota Legislature passed and the Governor <br />signed Minnesota Laws, 2011, Chapter 112, Article 11, Section 16 amending the Original <br />Legislation; and <br />WHEREAS, such legislation requires local approval in accordance with Minnesota <br />Statute §645.021; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires the law to become effective. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That Minnesota Laws, 2011, Chapter 112, Article 11, Section 16 is hereby approved. <br />2) That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to submit the appropriate certificate and a copy <br />of this Resolution to the Secretary of State of the State of Minnesota. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Backous and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Tossey <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
