He a~eed with thc Metropolitan <br />Council in that certain items needed to be ,&iressed but that the Commission should go forward <br />with the concept, and Comrmssioner Holland concurrex[ <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer requested that Ms. Frolik verify the accuracy of the site logation map for the <br />Rum River Hills P.U.D. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen to recommend C/fy <br />Council approve thc concept of a 12-unit townhouse development for Lot 1, Block 1, and Out_lot <br />C, Rum River H_ills, subject to the following conditions: I) Demonstration that individual on-site <br />sewer systems can be accommodated according ~o applicable codes; 2) Demonstration that adjacent <br />easement-area lands have sufficient available suitable softs to accommodate back-up firainfield <br />areas for the 12 units; 3) Receipt of amended comments from Metropol/tan Council Staff; 4) <br />Ptrrther rewiew by legal counsel of the precedent which would be set by approval of this project4 5) <br />Water supply system to be approved by appropriate agencies; 6) The part3' wail between units are <br />to be constructed of fire-proof materiM; 7) City staff receiving assurances from Metropolitan <br />Council that approval of the project will not endanger the possibLIity of any future MUSA <br />expansions within the Ciry. <br /> <br />Discussion: Commissioner Henflriksen stated although the CiD' received a letter from the <br />Metropolitan Council saying they do not approve, Mr. Dom refutes that fact. Commissioner <br />Hendr-iksen stated it would be many years before metropolitan sewer comes in, and he feels <br />uncomfortable approx6_ng this concept until these problems are resolve.& Ms. FroU. k stated the <br />Commission could table approval until the items addressed are resolve& <br /> <br />Motion carrie& Voting Yes: Cha/rperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Holland., Terry and <br />Tnomd Voting No: Comm~.~sioner Hend.r/ksen. Absenrz Commissioner LaDue. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer inquired whether Mr. Dom understood he could not go to City Council <br />until City Aciministrator Schroeder f-rods the conditions met, and Mr. Dom stated he understood. <br /> <br />Bob Tomaszewsk. i, 15645 Y~ldrna Street N.W. - referred to the CiD' of Brooklyn Park and their <br />tendency for high density housing, and he suggested the CiD' look at what's happened to Brooklyn <br />Park before they start m overbuild Ramsey.
