PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ram~y Ci~ Council conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, December 14, 1993, at <br />the Ram.~ey Mupieipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota, to <br />hear comment ~garding compliance with the t~ms of the conditional use permit f~r Lots 2, <br />3 and 4, Block 4, Gateway North Industrial Park Plat 2; Case of Danny's Tranny S. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Gilbertson <br />Councilmember SheLla Beyer <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br />Counc~lmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Couneilmember Gerald Zimm~-man <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Admirfistrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowsld <br />Zoning Adrainis~t~ Sylvia Frolik <br />Police Chief Mike Auspos <br />Project Manager James Gromberg <br />City Auomey William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO OI~DER <br /> <br />Mayor Gilberts0n called the public hearing to order at 7:20 p.m <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Danny Karst, owner of Danny's Tranny's, stated that he had gotten very busy trying to put <br />together every~ing for his building improvements and he was unable to tend to the <br />business as he Should have. He stated he should have had better people to do the job and <br />things got out ~f hand. He stated he has a couple of new employees now who can take <br />care of the problems. Mr. Karst stated that before he got the letter from Sylvia, he hired a <br />genflernan nam0d Warren who has made a big difference with regard to the condition of the <br />storage area. He stated he has also brought in Sam Brady who is well educated in <br />management and has been able to take a lot of the pressures off him (Karst). tie stated that <br />once the new b~ilding is erected, there will be no outside storage whatsoever;, however, the <br />building will no~t be put up until spring so he requested a few months to show Council what <br />improvements he could make. <br /> <br />Sam Brad5,, Danny's Tranny's, stated he joined Mr. Karst's company about six weeks <br />ago. He has a MA in Business from the University of Minnesota and stated he came to <br />Danny's Tranny's from one of the largest recycling companies in the area. Mr. Brady <br />stated there wa~, and is, a problem at Mr. Karst's business. He stated there was a big <br />problem with p~ersonnel but that 85 percent of the employees now are new. Mr. Brady <br />suggested he h~ made significant changes and that they will continue to try to make things <br />better.
