When a permit is denied, written notice shall be provided to the <br />applicant along With a brief statement of the reasons for denial. The Zoning Administrator or <br />Building Official may suspend or revoke an issued permit for any false statement or <br />misrepresentation bf fact in the application. <br /> <br />9.12.19 Refunds <br /> <br /> Su~d. 1. If an issued permit is withdrawn by the applicant within ninety (90) <br />days of issuance, ~nd if no inspections have been made and no work authorized by the permit has <br />been performed, f~.ty percent (50%) of the permit fee may be refunded to the applicant. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. A permit issued by the Zoning Administrator becomes null and void if <br />work is suspende~d or abandoned or not completed within one hundred eighty (180) days of <br />issuance, but may be reinstated with an additional payment of one-half of the original fee. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Any sign installed or placed on any parcel prior to receipt of a permit, <br />the specified perrhit fee shall be doubled. However, the payment of the doubled fee shall not <br />relieve any personiof any other requirement or penalties prescribed in this Section. <br /> <br />9.12.20 AdMinistration <br /> <br /> Sul~d. 1. The Zoning Administrator shall process applications for permits. The <br />Building Official ts empowered, upon presentation of proper credentials, to enter or inspect any <br />building, structure, or parcel in the City for the purpose of inspection of a sign and its structural <br />and electrical connections to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and ordinances. <br /> <br />9.12.21 ViOlations <br /> <br /> Sub~d. 1. When, in the opinion of the Zonihg Administrator, a violation of the <br />code exists, the ZOjfing Administrator shall issue a written order to either the owner of the sign or <br />the owner of the pgoperty on which the sign is placed. The order shall specify those sections of the <br />code involved, de~ribe the violation and shall direct that the violation be corrected within thirty <br />(30) days from theidate of the order, unless otherwise specified by the Zoning Administrator. <br /> <br /> Sul~d. 2. If the Zoning Administrator or Building Official finds that a sign is <br />abandoned or is structurally, or electrically defective, or in any way endangers the public, the <br />Zoning Administr4tor or Building Official shall issue a written order to the owner of the sign and <br />occupant of the pr~_raises stating the nature of the violation and requiring repair or removal of the <br />sign within sixty (~60) days of the date of the order. <br /> <br />9.12.22 Removal of Signs by the Zoning Administrator <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. The Zoning Adminisu'ator may cause the removal of any illegal sign, <br />any sign remaininl~ after a business permanently closes, or any sign not properly maintained in <br />cases of emergenc~, or after failure to timely comply with written orders for removal or repair. <br />After removal or d~molition of the sign, a notice shall be mailed to the sign owner and owner of the <br />property where tho~ sign was located stating the nature of the work and the date on which it was <br />performed and demanding payment of the costs as certified by the Zoning Administrator together <br />with an additional :~0% for inspection and incidental costs. <br /> <br />Page 16 of 18 <br /> <br />lql <br /> <br /> <br />
