Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-05-113 <br /> <br />RESOLTUION TO ACCEPT RESIGNATION OF PATROL OFFICER AND <br />AUTHORIZE HIRING OF PATROL OFFICER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, On April 25, 2003 Officer Greg Sullivan submitted a letter of resignation <br />effective May 9, 2003; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Staff is requesting authorization to fill the Patrol Officer position left <br />vacant by Mr. Sullivan's resignation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in November 2002 the City conducted a recruitment process for a Patrol <br />Officer; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in this time of significant budget constraints staff would like to maximize <br />the investment of time and money that were dedicated to the most recent recruitment process; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the most recent recruitment process revealed a very qualified candidate, <br />Ryan Law, who continues to be interested in working for the City as a Patrol Officer. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Accept Greg Sullivan's resignation from his position as Patrol Officer with the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Hire Ryan Law as a Patrol Officer at $42,455 annually. All other personnel polices will <br />apply no~xnally. This appointment is contingent upon a satisfactory pre-employment <br />physical and drug/alcohol screen. Mr. Law would begin employment with the City on or <br />near May [9, 2003. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Counci hnember Pearson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />Counciimernber Zimmerman <br /> <br /> <br />
