Councilmember Backous agreed with Councilmember Wise and suggested the City negotiate <br />with the tenant. <br />Mayor Ramsey stated he preferred to terminate the lease. He questioned whether Mr. Sharp <br />needs both properties. <br />Mr. Sharp explained he would need both properties. There are boats stored in the winter, which <br />are brought in within a short period of time. There is a deadline to orchestrate getting boats in <br />and out, and a lot of room is needed. He said he cannot reduce his staff. <br />Councilmember Tossey advised the rents should be adjusted so the total amount needed for taxes <br />is covered. The maintenance would need to be done whether the building is rented or not and he <br />stated he does not want to pass those costs to the public. <br />City Attorney Goodrich noted the landlord is the City and if the City is satisfied with taking one <br />large sum for rent, the amounts could be separated in recordkeeping. <br />Mr. Sharp stated he would agree to pay one large sum for rent and he could keep track of <br />payments in his bookkeeping as well. <br />Consensus was reached to direct Staff to discuss the financial amounts further and bring it back <br />to the next Council meeting for further review. <br />2) Receive Status Report on Goals from Strategic Planning Session <br />City Administrator Ulrich reviewed the Strategic Action Plan. <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br />None <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />The Work Session of the City Council was adjourned at 6:54 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />K rtis G.
