Member Kiefer asked about the second cabinet owner who had indicated interest. Mr. Sullivan <br />responded he had not heard back from the owner. <br /> <br />Rum River Dental Creations: Mr. Sullivan noted this business would be constructing a small <br />(approximately 3,000 square feet) dental lab on Lot 1, Block 3, Sunfish Lake Business Park. He <br />explained they made crowns and other accessories and looked forward to joining the Ramsey <br />community. He indicated this project was scheduled to close in September and ground should be <br />broken in October. <br /> <br />Basalt Properties., LLC: Mr. Sullivan noted the City was currently negotiating a deal with a <br />company to develop land located on Basalt Street adjacent to Tom Sauter's new project. He <br />stated the City was excited at the possibility of the redevelopment accelerating in this area. He <br />added the prospect would like to begin construction this fall. <br /> <br />Panther Precision: Mr. Sullivan noted Panther Precision had moved into its new building in <br />Sunfish Lake Business Park. He indicated the building looked great and the owners were excited <br />about joining the Ramsey business community. <br /> <br />W Properties: Mr. Sullivan noted the City would close on the land for this project at the end of <br />September and construction was expected to commence sometime in late 2004 or early 2005. He <br />explained this project would be approximately 40,000 square feet in Gateway North Industrial <br />Park No. 5. <br /> <br />There was discussion regarding W Properties' identity. <br /> <br />Mr. Sullivan explained this would be a pay-as-you-go TIF, so payment would be made up front. <br /> <br />Other Prospects: Mr. Sullivan noted staff was responding to weekly inquiries to business <br />prospects. He explained this involved callback and introductory meetings with businesses and/or <br />their respective agents. He indicated updates would follow as they became available. <br /> <br />Sunfish Lake RFI: Ms. Geisler noted concept planning for the park at Sunfish Lake was in the <br />RFP process, which closed Wednesday, September 10, 2003. He stated staff was recommending <br />the concept plans generated by the RFP look at a potential housing component as well, possibly <br />combining the two planning processes. <br /> <br />Housing Committee: Ms. Geisler noted the Housing Committee would be spending the next few <br />meetings working on increasing architectural standards for new residential development in the <br />City. <br /> <br />Case #4: Post Office/Zip Code for the City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Chairperson Riley stated the City needed to have its own post office and zip code, as many <br />businesses did not list Ramsey as their city. <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority / September 8, 2003 <br /> Page 10 ofll <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br /> <br />
