CASE # <br /> <br />REQUE,T FOR DONATION TO BUSINESS LANDFILL COALITION <br /> By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The attached letter was recently received from Peter Turok of the Anoka Area Chamber of <br />Commerce and ~ re. questing funding from the City of Ramsey for the Business LandFill Coalition. <br /> <br />The Anoka A.reaiChamber of Commerce has grouped together with other chambers and business <br />organizations and formed the Business Landfill Coalition which has been dedicated to getting some <br />meaningful legislation passed concerning the clean-up of landfills in Minnesota. The coalition was <br />established to fubd lobbying efforts for alternatives to the Superfund Cleanup. This effort was <br />established in response to the Oak Grove cleanup. <br /> <br />The coalition is gsking for a donation of $500.00 from the City of Ramsey. To date, over 140 <br />businesses and p~blic entities have sent in money in response to this issue.
