SUBMISSIO?~ OF THE APPLICATION AT THE MAY 24, 1994 MEETING WOULD NO'~' HAVE ALLOWED THE GAMBLING CONTROL BOARD THEIR REQUIRED i MINIMUM TWO WEEK PERIOD FROM SUBMISSION TO APPROVAL/I~ENIAL OF THE REQUEST. Reviewed By:~ City Administrator Finance Officer Background: ~ The Ramsey L~ns Club has submitted the attached application for a one-day off-site lawful gambling licens& The gambling, which would consist of pull-tabs and tipboards, would be held in conjunction v~ith the Lions Annual Community Picnic scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 1994 at Cenlyal Park. Tl~e Lions Club is also requesting a waiver of the 30 day waiting period. It should be nottd that the current code section which governs the regulation of lawful gambling within the City ~tipulates in Section 7.61.04, subd. b. specifically that a location is unsuitable for gambling if th~ predominant clientele is under the age of 18. This should be taken into consideration si~qce the Community Picnic is a "family function" and most likely will include numerous individuals under the age of 18.
